Knowing Christ More
Adult Bible Fellowships
Adult Bible Fellowships
Adult Bible Fellowships meet each Sunday following our morning service from 11 - 12pm. We are currently offering the three electives listed below.
Galatians - Living in Line With the Truth of the Gospel
Dave Baron - meeting in Library
It is very common in Christian circles to assume that “the gospel” is something just for non-Christians. We presume that the gospel is a set of basic “ABC” doctrines that Christians do not need to hear or study once they are converted. Rather, they should move beyond the gospel to more “advanced” doctrines. But Galatians’ great declaration of the gospel of grace was written to believers who did not see its implications for life issues confronting them. Paul resolves the disunity and racial exclusivity not with a simple exhortation to “be better Christians” but by calling them to live out the implications of the gospel. So Christians need the gospel as much as non-Christians do. Their problems come because they tend to lose and forget the gospel. They make progress only as they continually grasp and apply the gospel in deeper ways.
Christophanies & Theophanies
Ian Struthers - meeting in the Youth Room
We are surveying Theophanies and Christophanies in the Old and New Testaments and discuss how the Lord revealed His nature and purpose to mankind in the garden, in the desert, in the furnace, up a ladder, walking, wrestling or even just listening to the livestock. Through the Word and dreams, promises, covenants and answers to prayer we experience God’s will for our lives today. During our study I hope the Spirit leads us to share how He’s touching our lives and helping us obey.
Design for Discipleship
Alan Blodgett - meeting in the Kitchen
Billions of the world's people go through life spiritually undernourished. The words Jesus spoke centuries ago are still true - "Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God" (Matthew 4:4). Because they recognize this need in their lives that only God can satisfy, more and more people are turning to serious study the Bible - both those new to the Christian faith and those who have known Christ for many years.
The Design for Discipleship studies have been carefully planned to help you:
• Establish a program of personal study of the Scriptures.
• Examine the great truths of the Bible.
• Learn and practice the essentials of discipleship
